Medical Assistant

Program Overview: 16 Weeks Online and Face2Face

Our Medical Assistant Program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and clinical experience needed to assist healthcare professionals in a variety of medical settings.
We will teach our students how to perform vital signs, front office procedures, medical records, billing/coding, phlebotomy, EKG, lab procedures, nursing skills, infection controls, quality assurance, patient's Privacy Health Information and much more.  Students will attend one week of clinical at a healthcare facility.

Upon completion, students will be equipped to take on administrative and clinical tasks, including patient care, medical office procedures, laboratory duties, and as needed duties.

Students will be able to sit for the national certification with NHA to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).

Evening classes: 530p-8:30p M, W or Saturday classes TBA

 

Mississippi average annual salary: 39,180- 49,247.  Hourly ranges: 16.00-23.00

Deposit: 450 must be made 2 weeks before class starts.  ​

Phlebotomy-Traditional

Program Overview: 10 wks Hybrid

Our Program is designed to teach a comprehensive methodology course to our students. They will learn phlebotomy skills, venipuncture, dermal puncture, urinalysis, medical terminology, patient privacy laws, communication, lab requisition orders, the order of draw, documentation, chain of infection, patient verification, workplace safety, patient safety, infection control, lab test, and more. Students will also attend an externship in-school and at a healthcare facility.  They will be eligible to sit for a nationally accredited Phlebotomy certification exam through NHA, Certified Phlebotomy Technician.

Evening 5:30p -8:30p M, W, Saturday Days Only (Scheduled)

Advanced Phlebotomy
Program Overview:  4 wk Hybrid

Prior Phlebotomy Experience is required.
Our Program is designed to teach a comprehensive methodology course to our students. They will learn phlebotomy skills, venipuncture, dermal puncture, urinalysis, medical terminology, patient privacy laws, communication, lab requisition orders, the order of draw, documentation, chain of infection, patient verification, workplace safety, patient safety, infection control, lab test, and more. Students will not have to do externship. They must have prior phlebotomy experience.  They will be eligible to sit for a nationally accredited Phlebotomy certification exam through NHA, Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
